Jemma is a terrific little bundle. She arrived at our shelter as a stray. She is bright-eyed, lively, and happy to meet you. She is about 2 years old and a compact 40 pounds. Jemma loves people and attention, and gets along with other dogs. She'll need space to run, a secure fence, and lots of play and activity. Our dogs and cats are among the best you will find anywhere!<br/><br/>The Powell County Animal Shelter is at 121 Echo Hollow Road, Clay City, KY. Shelter hours are 9-3 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 10 to noon on Saturday. We can arrange to meet you at the shelter after hours if needed. It is always best to make an appointment by calling 606-663-4998, option 1. Our small staff can't always get to the phone so PLEASE leave a message and it will be answered shortly. <br/><br/>We require an application. We can send you a copy by email, you can download one at fopcp.org, or we can arrange a time to fill one out over the phone. Our email address is pocoanimalshelter@gmail.com.<br/><br/>Adoption fees for dogs range from $150-$200. We accept cash, checks, and a QR code on the application allows you to pay by credit card, Pay Pal, or Google Pay. The fee covers the mandatory spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, dewormer, and first round of flea and tick preventatives. <br/><br/>We are happy to answer any questions you may have!
