Jeff/Jack's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

25-050 Jeff, now known as Jack, and 25-052 Stuart are a bonded pair who initially showed up on someone’s property. The boys are 2 years old. The finder was unable to keep them as he is moving, but Jack and Stuart are now in their forever home with an adoptive family. Their story is a fairytale with the best possible ending! The adopters met Jack and Stuart at the beginning of October 2025. Both boys were starting to deteriorate in the kennel; they felt that they needed to take a chance on them. Unfortunately, there was little information on the boys. They had lived outside on a 15-acre ranch for the past year and a half. Did they get along with other dogs? People? Potty trained? In the adopter's words:

They were extremely fearful; they had never walked on leash. They are adorable and sweet, but as the adopter wants you to know: We have had some ups and downs with them and it hasn’t all been ‘golden;’ they are still so scared.

Jack and Stuart are learning to be goods dogs, as the adopters have the patience and unconditional love to help them become the best versions of themselves. Just after the boys were placed in the home, they tore up a couch. The adopter, who watches them with a nanny-cam when she is at work, let us know that they have not destroyed anything in the last month! Socialization with people and animals is happening, as well as leash training. This story from the adopter will make you laugh out loud:

We have found that they love to play with toys; we are teaching them how to play with a ball. They are so cute! When we toss a ball down the hall, they both go bounding after it, by leaping and jumping, legs outstretched, then slipping and sliding the whole way. They also stand up on their hind legs and try to catch the ball with their front paws – they are so uncoordinated! Both are the biggest couch potatoes! After living outside for over a year, they now love being inside and crashed out, upside down, on the couch. These sweet boys are totally worth all the effort, and I am looking forward to sharing more of our journey!
