JD - 30 pounds of bed hog and buddy's Story
At only 30 pounds and one year old, JD, a heeler mix, doesn’t ask for much. He has made huge strides while in foster care alongside eight other dogs.
JD was left at a business with his mom and littermate when he was still a pup. He wasn't rescued for months and because of this, he does not always trust and can sometimes hesitate before following his person. Another dog in the home who is established would complement his lack of confidence, but if you don’t have another dog, that’s ok too. He will need reassurance and training to help build him up. Long walks on a leash are a great way to start.
This boy loves to be with you while you watch TV and sleep! He likes to play with toys and seems to find each one fascinating! He also finds cats fascinating... for this reason we're looking for a feline-free home for him.
JD lives on a small farm with 8 other dogs. He plays with anyone who will let him and although he doesn't require a large yard, we prefer he go to a home and not an apartment. He gets lonely if he's left alone for too long, dare we say a little separation anxiety. Someone who is around the home more often than not would pair well with this fella.

JD is available to transport from his foster's home in Texas to the Northeast. He's neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and was given a proheart 12 shot for 12 months of heartworm prevention (a $100 value).

In a very short time, this JD has come a long way. We know that given even more time in the right home, he will be the companion that you were searching for and will once again prove that a rescued dog is a good catch.

Cost for ground transport is $300 in addition to the $350 adoption fee.
