JC (Rescued from Iran)'s Story
Please meet JC, a 6-year-old female! She loves being petted, cuddling, and swimming.

JC was sadly surrendered by her owner four years after she was adopted.

JC’S history:

JC was rescued from the streets of Iran as a puppy after all her littermates but her and one other puppy were shot by city officials. She was rescued by a kind lady who lived nearby, then raised, trained, and cared for by her until she was almost 1.5 years old. She was then brought to the U.S. where she was adopted by a man. At first, things were great with her home and she happily hiked, camped, went to the beach, and was cherished. After he moved, married, adopted another dog, and eventually had a baby, JC was pushed aside and was no longer welcome in the house. In those four years, her life changed pretty drastically from being a cherished pet to the family’s outcast. This rejection made her confused. Her family said the she growled at him and his wife is scared of him. A week later her family surrendered her back to the rescue, in April at 6 years old.

She is being boarded at Paradise Pet Lodge and has come such a long way since they started caring for her. She takes a while to open up to new people but once she does, she’s just a big, happy, lovable goofball. She’s ready to get out of the boarding facility and find a forever home. She just needs someone who will be patient and work with her while she works through her fear and learns to trust human again, but she is trained on all the basics, easy to walk, and is such a sweetheart!!

Several of us have been picking her up multiple times a week for outings. She’s been on a hike in Paradise Conservation Area, many walks at Brightwater Trails, and has enjoyed people (and dog) watching at Magnuson Park. She doesn’t show any signs at all of reactivity and is great on a leash, but she does get scared easily and so we’ve been building her endurance out of her safe areas (her kennel, the car, etc.), recently we took her on a 45-minute walk through the forest and we passed people, other dogs, and even mountain bikes. She got a bit scared from the bikes, but was able to feel reassured and safe again to continue almost immediately.

That’s a huge improvement from when she was surrendered to us, reluctant to even leave her kennel and was quivering in fear of many things. She’s really opened up a lot.

She’s a big Anatolian Shepherd mix, weighing about 85- 90 pounds. If you are able to open your home and heart for JC, please consider adopting her. She’s so ready and deserving of a loving home.

**CONTACT INFORMATION** For more information, please contact Raheleh LaCroix at 206-853-5344 or rahelehlacroix@netscape.net.

**This is a courtesy post**
