Jazzy's Story

Meet Jazzy, she's full as much spunk, enthusiasm, end expressive energy - just like her name implies!

Female | 11 months old | Shepherd Mix (Manitoba Designer Mutt) | ~40lbs | Spayed and UTD on shots | Good with dogs and kids

Background

Jazzy was rescued from a Northern Community in Manitoba with help from our partners at K9 Rescue Manitoba in September 2025. She settled in so well to her foster home that she was adopted by them but through no fault on her own, her adopter could no longer care for her so she has been rehomed to us and is looking to find her Furever Family!

Personality

Jazzy is a smart, curious, and energetic young Shepherd mix with a big love for the outdoors - this is where she is her happiest! She can be a little cautious when first meeting new people, but once she warms up, she’s very affectionate with her people and enjoys belly rubs and good neck scratches. Jazzy is very food-motivated and very smart, which makes her eager to learn and easy to train. She enjoys the company of other dogs, especially in off-leash settings, and has a playful, sometimes rambunctious side making her so fun to be around. She loves the car and tucks in for a nap in her bed in the backseat any time she needs to go somewhere.

Ideal Home

Jazzy will thrive in an active, dog-savvy home with people who enjoy being outdoors in all kinds of weather—hikers, joggers, adventurers, and explorers are her kind of people! She would do best with a family who are committed to maintaining a consistent routine and continuing her training. A fenced yard would be a bonus for extra energy release, but it’s not required as long as her physical and mental needs are met. Jazz does well in apartments (and isn't scared of elevators!) but would benefit from a home without cats due to her prey drive. Older children or adults are recommended.

Training & Activity

Jazz is highly intelligent and already knows sit, wait/stay, down, drop it, and leave it, and she’s making great progress with recall and loose-leash walking. She enjoys training sessions, food puzzles, and enrichment activities, especially on bad weather days. Jazz needs daily structured exercise—long walks, runs, park time, and mental stimulation—to stay balanced. When her energy needs are met, she settles well at home. She is not destructive and will choose to tuck herself in for a nap in her crate (her safe space) throughout the day.

Summary

Jazzy is a bright, athletic, and loving young girl looking for a committed home that will embrace her intelligence and energy. She’s playful, affectionate, great in the car, and happiest when she’s active and engaged with her people. With consistency, training, and plenty of adventure, Jazzy will be an incredibly loyal and rewarding companion for her furever family.

NOTE: All adoption applicants must be residents of Ontario, Canada to be considered.

Ready to give Jazz the forever home she deserves and a second chance at happiness?

Apply now: http://seapawsrescue.org/adoptionApplication.html

Sea Paws Rescue's Adoption Policy
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. All adult members of the household must attend the adoption interview. We prefer that applicants have lived at their current address for at least three months. This is to make sure that owners have had time to settle into their new surroundings, and provides stability for the new pup who themselves have already undergone multiple changes in a short time. Because young puppies require intensive training and care, we do not place puppies younger than 8 weeks of age in a home. Because of potential behavior/training concerns, we are very cautious when placing young pets in homes with children under the age of five. If applicants have another animal at home, they must introduce the animals properly. We want to make sure that their animal is happy with their selection and that the transition for both animals' will be relatively smooth. All adopters must take the animal to a veterinarian within one week of adoption as Sea Paws Rescue (SPR) does not screen for all diseases including, but not limited to, tick fever and heartworm. All further examinations and immunizations from the date of the adoption are at the adopter’s own expense. SPR makes no health guarantees or warranties. All adopters must understand that there will be an adjustment period and their pet may experience behavioural and/or health issues related to the change in environment. Adopters must seek professional assistance from a trainer and/or licensed veterinarian if they have concerns about issues related to the adjustment period. If at any time, for any reason, a SPR adopter decides not to keep their animal, they agree to return the animal back to a Sea Paws Rescue representative. Under no circumstance will the adopter surrender a SPR animal to a local shelter. In the event of a rehoming, no part of the adoption fee will be reimbursed.
