Jayne's Story

Meet Jayne
Location: Hartselle, AL
Date of Birth: 03/16/2021

Jayne is a sweet, affectionate Great Dane who is ready to find the family she has been waiting for. She has a wonderful personality and a great balance of playful energy and calm companionship. Jayne is always happy to run, play, and enjoy outdoor adventures, but she also has an excellent “off switch” and is just as content relaxing on the couch or settling calmly in her crate.

One of Jayne’s favorite things in the world is water. Whether it is a puddle, creek, or muddy splash zone, Jayne will happily jump right in and enjoy herself. She also has the classic Dane charm of offering plenty of slobbery affection to the people she loves.

Jayne thrives in a structured environment with clear expectations and routine. She is house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and rides comfortably in the car. She is also muzzle trained and e-collar trained. Jayne responds well to confident leadership and does best with an experienced owner who is comfortable continuing her training and providing consistency.

Jayne is very food motivated and enjoys training and working with her person. She benefits from engagement, mental stimulation, and regular activity. She is easy to live with when given structure and routine, and she settles nicely in her crate whether she has just finished playing or is resting after a quieter day.

Jayne can be dog selective and may react if challenged. Because of this, slow and controlled introductions are recommended. She would do best with a respectful, submissive dog or as the only dog in the home. Jayne has been neutral around cats, chickens, and horses.

Jayne is very affectionate with people and enjoys leaning in for attention and giving kisses. She has done well with children in her foster home and is comfortably handled by the children in the family.

Jayne is accustomed to eating in her crate and does best continuing this routine. She has shown some food guarding behavior in the past, but structured feeding in a quiet space helps her feel relaxed and secure.

Jayne’s ideal home would be with an active individual or family who enjoys spending time outdoors and is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She loves off-leash time, training sessions, and playing with her handler, and she is equally happy to settle down and relax once her energy has been spent.

Despite everything she has been through, Jayne remains resilient, affectionate, and eager to bond with her person. She is ready to become a loyal companion and a devoted best friend.

Jayne will also come with her crate, toys, training equipment, and other supplies to help set her up for success in her new home.

If you are looking for a playful, devoted companion who will happily join you on life’s adventures, Jayne may be the perfect match.

To apply to adopt Jayne, please visit:
https://linktr.ee/Srgdrr

Team Rocky Enterprises, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
How Our Adoption Process Works Team Rocky Enterprises DBA Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab (SRGDRR) follows a thoughtful adoption process designed to ensure the best possible match for both our dogs and their future families. Our available dogs are posted on our website, Facebook page, and multiple adoption platforms, including Petfinder. Once you find a dog you’re interested in, the process includes: 1. Adoption Application – This helps us learn about you, your household, and what you’re looking for in a dog so we can make the best match. 2. Veterinary Reference Check – We verify that current or past pets have received appropriate veterinary care. First-time pet owners are welcome and encouraged to apply. 3. Phone Interview – This is a chance for us to talk with you about the dog you’re interested in, including personality, needs, medical history, and any quirks. It’s also your opportunity to ask questions about the dog and our rescue. 4. Home Check – We confirm that your home environment is safe and appropriate for the dog, whether that includes a fenced yard or a leash-walking setup. This is not a housekeeping inspection—just a safety check. Once all steps are completed and approved, you’ll sign an adoption contract and submit an adoption donation. From there, your new forever friend will be ready to head home! Why This Process Matters Our goal is to match each dog with a home that best meets their needs. Some dogs thrive with experienced owners, while others do best with someone who is home most of the day or understands specific behavioral or medical needs. Taking the time to get this right helps ensure lifelong, successful adoptions. Our Lifetime Commitment If at any point you are unable to keep your adopted dog, you must contact us. We will always take our dogs back. We never want them to end up in unsafe situations or shelters again. Our responsibility to each dog lasts for their lifetime. Thank you for choosing rescue and for considering adoption with SRGDRR.
