Jay's Story

Jay’s Story: A Tiny Hero With a Big Heart

Jay may be the smallest pup of his litter, but he carries himself with the courage of a giant. He is a 17 week old 18 pound bully mix. Found tucked beneath a wooden shed with his two siblings, he weathered the cold by snuggling close and keeping a quiet, watchful eye on the world around him. Even then, his alert little mind missed nothing.

What makes Jay truly special is the mix of sweetness and bravery wrapped up in his tiny frame. He’s incredibly observant, always studying his surroundings, always aware. And despite his size, he has a natural instinct to look out for others. He’s been his sister’s little guardian from the start, stepping up whenever he senses something unfamiliar.

Jay’s personality is warm, gentle, and wonderfully adaptable. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and carries a calm confidence that makes him easy to love. When he bonds, he bonds deeply, offering affection, loyalty, and a surprising amount of heart.

Now, Jay is ready for a forever family who will give him the same love and protection he’s always given to those around him. He’s hoping for a home where he can feel safe, cherished, and cared for as he grows.

Applications at bigloverescue.org. Jay is working on crate and house training. He will be neutered at the appropriate age.

Big Love Rescue's Adoption Policy
All adoptions through Big Love Rescue require a completed application, a vet check, a home check, and a finalized adoption contract. We do not operate on a first-come, first-served basis — instead, we match each dog with the home that best fits their unique needs. To apply, please complete our adoption application at www.bigloverescue.org or use the link below. Once your application is approved, we’ll schedule a meet-and-greet. Please note: we are a foster-based rescue, not a shelter. All of our dogs live in individual foster homes, so we do not have a facility where you can stop by to meet them. *Out-of-State Adoptions* A transportation fee of $300 is required in addition to the adoption fee. This fee covers the cost of professional transport and the USDA-required health certificate for interstate travel. Please note: Dogs are adopted into their forever homes before transport. In-person meetings are not possible, but we’re happy to arrange FaceTime, Zoom, and phone calls with the foster family so you can get to know your future pet. Thank you for choosing to adopt and helping us give these dogs the lives they deserve!
