Jay's Story
This handsome boy is looking for a loving forever home. He's a gentle, affectionate soul who can be timid at first, especially around men, but once he trusts you, all he wants is to bury his head in your chest for hugs....and maybe relocate a few of your socks! Whether you're relaxing on the couch or moving around the house, he'll happily follow along and soak up every bit of love and attention.
He's house-trained, crate-trained, and walks fairly well on a leash. He gets along well with other dogs, has good manners, and isn't overly rambunctious. His current energy level is low to moderate, though we expect he'll become a bit more active as he reaches a healthier weight. He's eager to please, food-motivated, and takes treats with the gentlest mouth.
He rides quietly in the car after a few minutes, enjoys cuddling, and tolerates grooming well despite being fearful of many new experiences. He'll need regular Cocker Spaniel coat maintenance, a healthy diet to help him lose some weight, and daily eye medication for one eye. Otherwise, he's a healthy, happy boy. Jay is about 3 1/2 years old.
Because he's a sensitive boy who's still building confidence, he'd likely do best in a calm, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace. In return, you'll gain a loyal, loving companion who simply wants to be part of the family.
Interested in adoption?
