Jaxx's Story

Introducing Jaxx, an 8 yr old male Coton de Tulear. A what you say? He's a royal dog of Madagascar! Coton de Tulear is a fancy way to say THE softest dog ever. Cotons were such a popular breed with the royalty in Madagascar that at one time it was illegal for "common people" to own one! They were reserved for high society only. Cotons are known for their super soft coat and charming, joyful personalities.
Jaxx has recently retired from fathering puppies and is ready to leave the life of commercial breeding behind. Due to a past of poor nutrition and neglect, the poor guy only has 4 teeth left. He doesn't let that stop him, though. He just needs soft food and treats that are a bit easier for him to chew.
Jaxx loves to explore outside and will need a securely fenced yard. He went on his first walk recently, and although he did pretty well, he isn't leash trained yet. Jaxx is just learning to play with toys. We know he has a fun dog inside him just starting to come out. With some time and patience, we think he'll live up to the Coton breed characteristics.
Jaxx is fully vetted, does great in the car and is potty trained if let out on a regular basis. Jaxx is not fond of the kennel, but can be trusted to be left out alone in the house for several hours. He hasn't quite mastered steps yet, but uses a ramp to get on the couch. He is small dog friendly and will need a small resident dog to help him adapt to his new life.
Due to his past, Jaxx is still shy. He will need a patient family that is home more than not to help him become the Coton de Tulear that we know he can be. Although he warms up slowly, he is a little love bug once he trusts you.
Speaking of living up to the name of Coton de Tulear, Jaxx will need to be groomed several times a year to keep him super soft and so very handsome.
If you're interested in adopting this "high class," super soft and extremely handsome boy, please apply to adopt Jaxx today!

The adoption donation for Jaxx is $300. Adoption applications can be found on our website at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com
