Jaxon's Story

My name is Jaxon, and when I first came to the shelter with my sister Miya, I was scared of everything, especially people. I was also so skinny that every bone in my little body could be counted. The world felt big and frightening, and I shut down completely. When someone tried to come close to me, I was quick to react because I didn't know any other way to protect myself.
But the people here didn't give up on me. They were patient, gentle, and showed me kindness every single day. Slowly, I started to learn that not all humans are scary. Some of them just want to help.
Little by little, the scared boy I once was began to change. I started to open up, and the fear in my heart began to fade. Now I'm learning how to trust, how to play, and how to show the kindness that was always inside of me.
I've come such a long way from the frightened, frail dog who first arrived. Now I shine a little brighter, and I'm ready to share my heart with someone who will love me forever. All I need is a patient home and a person who will keep showing me the kindness that helped me become the dog I am today.
Walks great on a leash. Can be shy when doing new things, but quickly relaxes.
