Jax's Story

Jax is a 1-year old male Great Pyrenees. He’s had a really rough start in life. Originally found as a stray in Arkansas after he and his brother were both hit by a car. His brother, sadly, did not survive and Jax found himself in a crowded shelter until he was transported to us. He’s now been with us for several months and is a much-loved staff favorite but he really, really needs and deserves to find a place to call his own where he can experience more than shelter life has to offer.

Jax is fun and affectionate, gets along with dogs & cats, rides beautifully in the car, and appears to be housebroken. He loves to play with his friends and is always so happy to have a toy to fling around or a bone to chew. He’s fine on his own and settles nicely while you work, so he’d be appropriate for both work-from-home and in-office routines.

He can be a bit nervous in new situations (new sounds, traffic, and the occasional new doorway can rattle him a bit) so he will benefit from a patient home that will help him to build his confidence. He’s been friendly with people of all ages and even met a man on a horse while out on a walk recently and did amazingly well!

Jax is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, dewormed, has tested negative for heartworm and is on prevention, and is microchipped. Due to his breed and their tendency to roam, a fully-fenced yard will be required.

If you think you could provide Jax with the home he so desperately needs, call us at 845-687-7619 to set up an appointment to meet him.
