Jax's Story

Jax is STILL waiting for his furever home... 8 months later!

Jax is a 3 year old Boxer with the biggest heart and so much love to give. He absolutely adores people and kids and he wants to be right by your side — usually giving kisses and forgetting about personal space.

When Jax first came into our care, he struggled being around other animals due to the trauma he experienced early in life after being attacked multiple times by new dogs. He was constantly on edge and unsure of who or what he could trust. But with patience, structure, and love, Jax has made incredible progress. He is currently thriving in a foster home with other dogs and even two cats! (Side note: We will not adopt him into a home with cats due to his high prey drive when initially meeting them.) While Jax does very well with most dogs he knows and trusts, he can still be reactive toward new dogs, especially on walks or in busy public settings. Because of this, he would do best with an owner who understands his needs and can continue helping him build confidence through training, structure, and proper introductions!

Jax would be happiest living a more laid-back lifestyle, whether that means relaxing at home with his people or going on adventures to quieter, secluded places without a lot of dogs around. Despite this, he has made amazing progress in foster care and continues to improve every day. Once he feels comfortable, Jax absolutely loves to play, be goofy, and make new dog friends, and we truly believe he will keep blossoming with the right family by his side.

Jax would love a playful canine companion, but he needs the right match — a non-dominant dog and an experienced owner who understands introductions, boundaries, and helping him continue building confidence! Once Jax knows another dog is safe, his goofy, playful personality shines through.

He loves playing ball, going on adventures, learning new things, and being with his people. He already knows many commands, listens very well, and is incredibly loyal to the people he trusts.

Jax is looking for an experienced home with a house and a fenced yard where he can run, play, and continue to grow. He truly thrives with other dogs when paired with the right fit and proper guidance!

After everything he's been through, Jax deserves a family to finally call his own. We hope his perfect people find him soon.

Apply to adopt here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/48358/generic
