Jax's Story
ABOUT JAX
Looking for a lovable senior? Jax is an 8-year-old golden boy looking for a fresh start! Jax came to HAP when his previous owners moved and could no longer keep him. Shortly after his arrival, our medical team determined Jax had a torn CCL, which required surgery to repair. Thankfully, Jax has already underwent surgery and is doing well. However, to help keep him comfortable and ensure a smooth recovery, Jax was placed in a loving foster home. Now that he's back at the shelter, he is having a hard time adjusting to life here. We know this sweet guy would thrive in a home, he truly just wants out of here. His foster mom shared what he was like in her home:

"Jax is a sweet and loving boy with a heart full of affection and lots of personality! Jax is highly food-motivated, which makes him a quick learner and easy to train. He already knows how to sit, give a paw, and stay, and takes his medications without any trouble when given a little wet food on top. Jax is great with all humans, even if he reacts at first, he quickly overcomes his fear and turns into a big lovebug. He's very tolerant of our kids, their noises, and all the activity that comes with a busy household, making him a perfect family companion. Curious and engaged, Jax loves to see what's going on around him and enjoys being part of the action. This affectionate boy also loves his toys, goes into his crate without any issues at night, and is fully potty trained. Jax has been recovering from a leg surgery over the past couple of weeks, showing patience and resilience along the way. It's clear he comes from a loving home and he's ready to return that love tenfold to the right family."

**Jax is currently in the final stages of recovery, seeking a foster-to-adopt home.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
