Jasper's Story

Jasper is the very definition of a Heeler puppy. This bundle of energy is ALL go, unless he's busy working on a good bone or relaxing in his kennel, where his foster says he is an absolute angel. He's learning to go into his kennel on command, though if you're holding a piece of kibble or his food bowl, he'll happily try to let himself in!

Jasper is SO smart. He mastered "sit" in about 15 minutes and now knows sit, down, paw, and circle, and he's currently working on "place." Even when he's sitting nicely, you can see the energy radiating through him in the form of the happiest little feet. He's a true working-breed brain that will thrive with an owner who loves training and keeping him busy.

He walks great on a leash and is still working on socialization, so he learns that not every passerby is "stranger danger." Jasper has gotten along wonderfully with his foster's resident dogs. He's still learning good manners around cats, but he isn't aggressive with them at all. Like most puppies, he can get a little mouthy during play, but it's never intentional, just puppy enthusiasm that will improve with continued guidance.

Jasper loves his people and wants to be near them, even if he isn't a big snuggler. He's a big fan of a good kiss attack and proudly sports the absolute best mohawk around!

If you're looking for a bright, eager, fun-loving Heeler pup to grow and learn with, Jasper might be your guy.

Jasper is 6 months old, neutered, and has a docked tail. He is fully vaccinated and microchipped. He currently weighs approximately 15 pounds and is growing. He takes preventive medication for fleas and heartworms.

Thanks for considering a dog from Texas Cattle Dog Rescue!
