Jasper

Jasper is a 4-year-old neutered sable male Sheltie. He's had several homes in his young life, through no fault of his own, and has yet to find his permanent one. He's a big boy at 35 pounds -- very loving and affectionate. He's housetrained, crate trained, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night. He's active, healthy, and playful, eager to play chase and fetch. He's up to date with vaccinations and ready to go to his new home.<br/><br/>He has not been formally trained and his major weakness is lack of exposure to other dogs and people. Although he walks nicely on leash, he will occasionally react to dogs or people he meets. And although he gets along well with other dogs, he doesn't bond with them easily and likes to be closer to his people.<br/><br/>We are looking for a quiet home with people willing to exercise and train him. He would benefit greatly from a "manners," "basic obedience," or "canine good citizen" class. He needs to gain confidence and would appreciate a home in which his people are with him most of the time and there are no young children or pets in the household.
