JASPER's Story

So many dogs deserve sooooo much better than the life they have had. JASPER (whose name is really BUDDY) is one of those dogs. Last Tuesday he was found frozen in fear on the side of Milarcik Rd. near the sewage plant in Tippecanoe. Usually when a dog is dumped, they stay where they are left waiting for their person to return. So the immediate thought was this boy was dumped. As we got to know him, we found it hard to believe someone would do that—JASPER is housebroken, very friendly and knows both verbal and hand commands. He’s low maintenance. Love him and walk him, and he gives his heart to you. He walks like a gentleman on a leash, he’s calm and patient. JASPER was born on March 24, 2024. He is an American Bully/American Staffy mix. One of those oops litters where it was believed the baby daddy was too young to knock up a girl. But as we know, boys will boys no matter if they have 2 legs or 4. JASPER’s littermates were sold for $500 a pup hoping to ensure a good home. However, JASPER was given to good friend’s family member . It was believed that maybe having JASPER would help the guy straighten out his life. Since then, Tippecanoe has been a dumping ground by this person for unwanted animals and that includes JASPER. To add insult to injury, JASPER was stood up today by people who were supposed to come meet him. But that’s ok. JASPER doesn’t know it yet, but his life will only get better from here.

Harrison County Dog Pound. 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43950.
