Janus's Story
JANUS #962

Age: 1.5 years old

Color & Breed: Tricolor Basset

Gender: Spayed Female

Weight: 42 pounds

Will you look at that sweet face? It belongs to Janus #962! She’s a 1.5-year-old tricolor basset who currently weighs 42 pounds. She came from a breeder and is gaining more confidence in her ability to fulfill the role of Best Pet Ever with every passing day.

Janus came to Minnesota at just the right time, because it turns out she loves SNOW! Zooming around the yard is her favorite activity. She also loves a good romp with the young basset in her foster home, although so far cats have been disappointingly boring.

She’s more than looks. She’s got brains, too! She’s got house training figured out and is already learning tricks (in exchange for dehydrated liver treats.) She relies on the more experienced dogs in her foster home to show her how to act when faced with new situations. She definitely doesn’t like loud noises, so a fenced-in yard and a more confident hound are must-haves.

For more information on adopting with MNBR visit https://www.mnbassetrescue.com/adoption

MNBR adopts locally as much as possible so we can properly support our foster dogs and adopters if the need arises. We accept applications from within the following areas: all of Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and other applicants within a 6 ½ hour radius of our headquarters in St. Paul, MN.

Minnesota Basset Rescue (MNBR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue based in Minnesota. MNBR rehomes dogs from owners who can no longer provide their care and rescues dogs from local pounds and shelters. As an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue we welcome anyone who loves dogs and wishes to help hounds live a healthy and happy life. Our organization provides safe, loving foster home, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities while working hard to find them a permanent, loving home!
