Hey my name is January. I’m a super sweet and friendly old lady who is super easy going but I am set in my ways and be cranky dealing with new things. I love hanging out with people and getting belly and head scratches. I’m an extremely easy dog to walk, but I’m not a fan of other animals and occasionally will lunge at other dogs if they try to get too close. I have vision loss in my right eye, do keep that in mind when introducing yourself or anyone new so you don’t startle me. I love being talked to, so if you wanna bond with me and build a trusty relationship, tell me all about yourself! I can tolerate mostly everything, but when you push my buttons and do something I won’t tolerate, like get right up in my face or push around my paws to get me to move, I will bite with little to no warning. Things that I don’t like eventually turn into things I will tolerate, once we’ve built a bond over a month or so, but until then, I communicate my dislikes via biting, that’s the cranky part of me. As long as I have an owner that practices “defensive handling” with me and respects my boundaries, we will have no problems! So although I enjoy belly rubs l, pets and affection, getting in my face for kisses would be a no for me, for safety reasons. Besides that I’m overall a really fun girl. I love to play with toys and I’m quick with learning new tricks. I have a PhD in dog training! I’m really good with the muzzle so whenever I need a vet visit you can throw one on me. I still need some potty training but If I’m given frequent walks then I should be okay. I’m just a sweet & silly couch potato looking for my furever home that will give me a chance and respect my crankiness. I am still a very active girl and enjoys long walks. I have a LOT of love to give from my old heart and I can’t wait to spend my golden years with you!
