Urgently Looking for a Loving Home! Meet Jane!<br/>Jane was brought in from a property with 10 other dogs. When she and the others arrived at the shelter, they were completely shut down and fearful. Since then, we have been working tirelessly to get them to start trusting humans.<br/><br/>While her life didn't have the best start, we are committed to making sure that Jane finds the loving home she deserves. Jane has made incredible strides here at the shelter, and we believe he is ready for a Foster or Forever Home!<br/><br/> What Jane Needs in a Home<br/>Jane will thrive with an owner who can provide structure, confidence, and continued patience.<br/><br/>Confident Owner Required: Jane needs a confident, experienced owner who can provide clear direction and stability. Her new family must be willing to continue her training and socialization. She is an intelligent girl and is almost potty trained!<br/><br/>Home Presence: Jane is looking for a home where someone can be present for the majority of the day, as she does not do well and can be stressed when crated for long periods.<br/><br/>Child Restriction: Due to her fearful nature and specific behavioral needs, a home is required with no children younger than 15 years old. This is to ensure a calm and predictable environment for Jane.<br/><br/>Canine Companion Criteria: Jane can live with another dog, but her companion must be a larger, confident dog who is between the ages of 3 and 5 and loves to play. This stable dog will serve as a good role model for Jane's continued progress.<br/><br/>If you are ready to open your home and heart to a dog ready to bloom, please come meet Jane!<br/><br/>Interested in learning more about Jane? Come meet me at High Country Humane located at 11665 N. Highway 89, Flagstaff, AZ 86004. Our shelter is open Thursday-Tuesday, 11am-5pm, and closed on Wednesdays.<br/><br/>Adopting with High Country Humane means your new pet is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped (we register it for free!). BROWSE The best way to view all our adoptable pets is right here on our website! Here, you can see pictures and read important information like gender, age, and personality. Please note that some of our adoptable pets may be at the shelter or in a foster home. We encourage you to take your time with this process and make a mental note of the pet(s) you’d like to meet! *For the well-being of our animals, we do not allow walk-throughs of the kennels. When you arrive at the shelter, please have a few pets in mind that you’d like to meet, and we will be happy to assist you with a meet & greet! MEET & GREET After narrowing down your search, we encourage you to spend time with your potential new best friend! You do NOT have to have an appointment to come in. The shelter is open Thursday through Tuesday, 11AM-5PM. Closed on Wednesdays! Our dedicated team is here to assist and address any questions you might have. If you already have a dog at home, be sure to bring them to the shelter to meet any potential new house-mates. We want to ensure dogs will get along BEFORE taking one home! Note: we do not test shelter cats with dogs or shelter dogs with cats. COMPLETE ADOPTION When you’ve found your perfect match, we’ll move on to complete the adoption. We ask that you sign an adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee. This fee helps chip in for surgeries, vaccines, and day-to-day care your adopted pet has had with us. Donations are always welcome; they help us take care of the next pet that comes through our doors! This is also a great time to ask our team any lingering questions you might have, and we’re here to provide you with resources so you and your new pet can start things off on the right paw! AFTER ADOPTION You have a new pet, how exciting! Please remember that each animal will have an adjustment period in their new home after adoption. Every pet is unique & will adjust differently, but as a general guideline you can follow the 3-3-3 rule! 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine, and 3 months to start to feel at home. It doesn’t happen overnight, so give your new pet the patience they need to settle in & feel at home!
