After spending months as a stray and surviving on the kindness of neighbors who slowly earned her trust, Jami is now thriving in foster care and ready for a forever home.<br/><br/>Jami LOVES other dogs and happily makes furry friends of all sizes. She enjoys playing and zoomies and would likely thrive with a confident canine companion to play with and help her feel secure. She can also do well with older children who understand and respect her space.<br/><br/>People have to earn their way into Jami's inner circle, but once you're in, you're IN. She can be fearful of new people and needs patient introductions and time to build trust. Once she decides you're her person, she becomes an incredibly loyal little shadow who loves kisses, couch cuddles, and snuggling as close as possible at bedtime.<br/><br/>Jami is also the self-appointed captain of Neighborhood Watch. Her favorite post is the back of the couch, where she keeps tabs on pedestrians, delivery trucks, squirrels, and any other suspicious neighborhood activity.<br/><br/>She prefers a quiet, predictable home without frequent visitors and does best with consistent leadership, structure, and clear boundaries. As she becomes attached to her people, she can become protective, so continuing that guidance will be important.<br/><br/>Jami is potty trained, kennel trained, rides well in the car, and walks nicely on leash. A secure 6-foot fence is preferred, because this short little lady is surprisingly athletic and capable of clearing shorter fences.<br/><br/>Jami isn't the dog who will hand her heart to everyone she meets.
