Jam's Story

Jam (aka Jam Jam) is available for adoption, and she is such a sweet wonderful dog. At about 3 years old, she is the perfect combination of a loving Velcro dog that will also thrive with an active playful family. Jam is the dog that would be voted class clown in a high school yearbook. She will snuggle every chance she gets, scale you like a tree, sit on your shoulders on a chair, and cuddle for hours. Outside, she will get out her zoomies and patrol the yard for any interlopers. Bunnies and squirrels beware! Jam had a rough beginning living outside in a barrel and doing her best to be a diligent mama, but she is still learning about how to tame her hunting instincts to a more suburban life. Ideally, a fenced yard would definitely be best. But shes always loving to humans, brave with noises and storms, the happiest eater, and with the right exercise via lives to be a couch potato. Her potty training is coming along so beautifully, and she does great in a crate.

Early evidence suggests she navigates little ones nicely, but bc she doesnt really know her own strength, kids over 10 might be best. In her prior foster home she was great with dogs. In her. Current, shes curious but never aggressive across the fence. She seems to want to play.

Extremely treat motivated, she knows sit and (almost stay). Chicken is still tempting though.

Weighing in under 50 pounds of love, Jam Jam is learning walking on a leash by leaps and bounds. But when she sees critters on the walk, its hard to contain that exuberant excitement. Obedience classes and lots of treats are sure to help.

If you are looking for a loving, devoted, mostly quiet companion to snuggle, and you have a fenced yard or time to give her walks outside, this lovebug will reward you with affection, devotion, and laughs. Shes already spayed, chipped, healthy and ready for her forever home.

Her foster mom loves her cuddly yet spunky nature. Shes sure to make you laugh, and return every affection with so much love.

The adoption fee of $350 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!

*Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.
