Jake's Story

THIS IS A COURTESY POST - THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE RESCUE:

This is Jake, he is around 2 years and 9 months old. He is male and neutered, with Rabies, Bordetella and Distemper vaccinations on board. We adopted him around 3 months ago, and he is a very sweet guy. He is house-trained, and receptive to training. He is very playful, loves to cuddle, and just spend time with you.

He loves to meet people when he goes outside. When new people come to his home, he may be standoffish at first, but after a few minutes, or a few hello pets, and you're his best friend.

The reason we are rehoming him is because we have a cat. Jake is very prey-driven and cannot be housed with cats, or other smaller animals.

Jake has done well with meeting dogs in an outdoors setting, but we cannot say for certain if he would be able to live with other dogs. He is very interested in them, to the point of being overbearing to other dogs.

Due to his separation anxiety, he would do best at a home with someone who works from home, or has a farm, or something similar.

Please reach out to SHANNON: 845-857-5952 for more info.

Bleu's Canine Rescue Inc's Adoption Policy
We spay/neuter and vet all of our dogs before adopting them out. We require that all of our potential adopters fill out our adoption application. We then process the apps (call 3 personal references and a vet reference). We require a home visit. Then a meet n greet with the whole family and any other animals living in the home. Once we feel the dog is right for the family, we have them sign an adoption agreement which states that they will take the dog for future vaccines. Also states that they will not allow their dog to run at large. Once agreement is signed we require an adoption fee to be paid. We have monthly fundraising events where we sell our rescue merchandise and offer free education literature on responsible pet ownership and low cost clinics. We try to have our adoptable dogs at the events that allow dogs. we are very hands on with the community. We have no actual location. Our dogs are in foster homes in and around the Hudson Valley. We are ALWAYS looking for foster homes. We pay for and supply everything needed for the foster dog the entire time they are with you.
