A kind family took him in once they saw the puppies were being neglected. They could not keep him, so Jake is a Waverly Pet Rescue puppy now. We took him to the vet, and he now has all shots, was dewormed, treated for fleas, neutered. He is now living in a foster home.<br/><br/>Jake is about 4-months old as of October 29th, 2025, and weighs 21 pounds. Not sure how big he will get but he does have more growing to do. We were told that his mom is red nose pitbull mix with American Stafford terrier and dad is Pitbull, Aussie and American bulldog. He is quite the interesting combination!<br/><br/>Jake has been living in his foster home for over a month now. Jake is such a sweet, energetic boy. He’s good with dogs, cats, kids and leaves our chickens alone (they are separated by a fence). He loves being around people, he will lay on your lap, next to you on the couch or at your feet while you work. Jake loves to play with toys and is great at fetch, we are working on getting him more comfortable walking on a leash as he will benefit from daily walks to help burn his puppy energy. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night. Sudden quick or loud noises can still make him nervous, but he has come out of his shell a lot in the last few weeks. Jake will be a wonderful pet for almost any home. Apply today!<br/><br/>$250.00 adoption fee for Jake. (His vet bill to fully vet Jake was over $450)<br/><br/>WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.<br/>Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $450 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
