Jake's Story

Jake is about 2.5 years old, 47 lbs, and absolutely full of personality. He’s the kind of dog who keeps you laughing and on your toes in the best way:

✨ Jumps on the trampoline by himself
✨ Runs up and down the slide
✨ Plays fetch like a pro
✨ Loves walks, hikes, and anything active
✨ Soaks up affection and quickly bonds with his people

He’s house-trained, crate-trained, incredibly smart, food-safe, and already knows sit, down, and wait. Jake is equal parts goofy athlete and affectionate companion—and yes, he’s as stunning in person as he is in photos. Those tiger stripes of his are striking.

Jake was recently returned to our care due to challenges in a home with very small dogs. His previous owner reported occasional, unpredictable conflicts with their Chihuahuas.

Since returning, we’ve begun re-evaluating Jake in different environments—and what we’ve seen so far has been encouraging:

✔️ He has shown no issues with dogs his own size and larger
✔️ He has been curious but calm around cats in a controlled setting
✔️ He is social, playful, and eager to engage

Jake does have a high prey drive (he will chase squirrels, birds, etc.), so caution is still recommended around small animals. At this time, we believe he would do best in:

A home with no small pets, OR
A home with confident dogs his size or larger, with proper introductions

As with any dog, continued structure, supervision, and thoughtful introductions will set him up for success.

Jake would thrive with:

🏃 An active person or family
💛 Someone who enjoys training, play, and engagement
🌳 A fenced yard or space to burn off energy
🧠 A home that can provide structure and consistency
