Jagger's Story
Breed: Spaniel mix
Age: 1 yr.
Weight: 33 lbs.
Good with dogs: yes
Good with cats: unsure
Good with kids: sensitive around young children
Energy level: unsure
Good with men/strangers: yes
Hypoallergenic: no

Special home requirements or medical: none

Additional info:

Jagger appears to be mostly deaf, but that doesn't hold him back at all from being the sweetest and silliest pup in town. It is impossible not to immediately fall in love with Jagger as soon as you meet him. He is a happy guy with big brown eyes and an adorable puppy face.

He seems to be potty trained; he has not had an accident inside. His foster restricts his water to before walks, otherwise he will drink himself to sickness. He needs some leash training because he is just so excited and pulls; he wants to say hi to every human and dog he sees. Jagger loves sniffing everything, but he isn't a marker. He pees once on a walk and then spends the rest of the time sniffing.

Jagger is still a bit mouthy but is gentle. He loves to gently nibble on hands and feet but can be distracted with redirection with toys. He loves to cuddle and lay near and/or on you, but if he gets hot then he will go lay on the floor. He loves to plop down on the floor and makes a thud noise. He is such a silly boy. He doesn't love entering his crate, but if you throw a treat in there, he will walk in and sit in there and is totally fine once he is in it. His foster has him sleep in his crate as a safe space.

He is pretty quiet overall and does not bark. It seems Jagger would do well in a variety of homes, as long as he is loved and that his new family understands he cannot hear and they will need to use hand signals instead of verbal commands. Because he cannot hear you approach when he is asleep, it is best to let him wake up before touching him so you don't scare him. Also, off leash would be very risky with him as he would not be able to hear you call to him. So as long as you are careful and understand his needs, he would be a perfect dog to any lucky home.

If you are not ready to adopt just yet and would like to help in other ways, please consider clicking on the green Sponsor Me button above to help this dog receive the best care we can give.
