Jade's Story
Jade is a sweet, timid girl who needs the right person to bring out her best. Found abandoned in Little River Canyon National Park in Alabama alongside her mom and six siblings, Jade came into the world with a lot of heart, and a little caution.
She's a dog who thrives in calm, predictable environments. She may shy away at first, but toss a few treats her way, and give her a couple of minutes, she'll come right to you for pets and snuggles!

Everything is on her terms, so no forcing or picking her up, but the payoff is a loyal, affectionate companion who is absolutely worth the wait.

Jade is a total tomboy who holds her own. She's bold, quick on her paws, and sharp as a tack (she's already figured out stairs and furniture that have her siblings stumped). She's food motivated, is eating and drinking well, and is beginning to respond to basic commands. She's working on her leash training with her foster mom.

She currently lives with two Maine Coon cats and is doing well.

Jade would do best in a calm home with adults or older children who know how to respect her space. We strongly feel she needs a confident, easygoing dog to help show her the ropes.

Due to her sensitivity to sudden movements and her need for autonomy, she's likely not the right fit for homes with young children.

Jade weighs just a bit over 25lbs.

YOUR ADOPTION FEE COVERS: Transport to Maine, age specific vaccinations, Health certificate, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming & martingale collar.

Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption.
