Jade's Story

Jade has officially completed her heartworm treatment and is ready to find the forever family she deserves! This beautiful 3 year old Great Pyrenees mix has come a long way since being rescued from life on the streets, and now she's ready for someone who will continue helping her discover just how wonderful life can be. Jade can be initially stand-offish when she first meets someone. She's a timid girl who needs a little time to feel comfortable with new people and new situations. But the best news? Once Jade feels comfortable with you, which doesn't take much time, she will love you like no other! Give her some patience, a few treats, and a chin scratch or two, and you'll quickly see her sweet, affectionate personality shine through. Once she trusts you, Jade forms an incredibly strong bond with her people and wants nothing more than to be near them. Jade is also still building confidence when it comes to the outside world. Going for walks can be scary for her, and she would much rather turn around and head back to the safety of the house We are working with her every day to build her confidence, and she is making good progress, we are so proud of her!! While walks may take time, Jade absolutely loves having a yard where she can feel safe and comfortable. She enjoys playing in the yard with her canine foster sisters and is happiest when she can explore and play in a familiar environment. Because Jade is a timid dog who is still learning to feel confident in the world, she will need an adopter with experience and patience with a shy or fearful dog. Her new family will need to understand that she may need some time and encouragement as she adjusts to her new surroundings. In return, they will be rewarded with an incredibly loyal and loving companion. Jade is fully house-trained and has wonderful manners in the home, although she does have a loud bark when she hears new noises. She doesn't need a crate and is perfectly content relaxing on her bed and spending time with her family. She enjoys a calm environment and loves simply being near her people. Because of her past, Jade can be protective of her food and treats. Her foster family manages this easily by feeding her separately, and she does very well with that routine. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, but she would also be perfectly happy as the only dog in the home. Jade has not been cat tested and has not been around children.
