Jacque's Story
Jacque is an approx. 3yo and 57 lbs likely BC/ Aussie mix. Jacque was at the shelter and couldn't walk. Without rescue intervention, he would likely have been euthanized. We were able to get him pulled to safety right before Christmas.

Being the holidays, all of our normal ortho vets were on vacation, but we located a vet in Austin who could see Jacque and provide surgery. Turns out he had both a older pelvic fracture on one side and a Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) tear on the other side (ACL in humans). The pelvic fracture had already started to heal, so nothing was done for that. Instead, we got Jacque a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery. Since the surgery, he has been healing and doing great!

We also found out that Jacque is a sweet teddy bear of a pup. He's been a fantastic foster pup, and loves people. He attentive and observant and super smart. He has been fine with the other dogs in his two foster homes and loves to lay quietly next to his person whether you're watching TV or working at your desk. He rides well in the car, and has been the best patient at the vet.

He does have some more healing to do, so is on slightly restricted activity but is available to adopt at this time with the understanding that he may still need at least one follow up vet visit.
