Jackson's Story

Meet Jackson! Jackson came to us at the request of our vet. He was about to be owner euthanized for convenience. Initially Jackson was brought out to the rescue by the owner after speaking to her/our vet. Unfortunately, when on the other end of the leash with past owner, he was aggressive and lunging at Tom who was there to receive him and help him acclimate. There was nothing he could do to calm or console and Jackson went back to the vet. Thankfully, our vet called and explained that Jackson is only reactive when his owner is holding the leash. So, wanting desperately to help this pup, we tried again and we went to the vet to meet him. This was a totally different experience. Jackson looked how he does in his pics. Happy, whole body wiggling for a belly rub.

We are not certain what caused the anxiety on the other end of the leash, but after over a year now here at the rescue, we have never again seen that side of Jackson. He is loving and happy and silly and playful. We are still looking and hoping for an experienced home for Jackson as he has clearly had some trauma in his life but he is a happy boy and deserves a happily ever after.

He is an interesting little man and definitely worthy of a happy life and forever family!

If you are interested in Jackson, please fill out an application at Projectcecilrescue.com under the adopt tab. You can email any questions to Projectcecilrescue@outlook.com and call/text with any as well at 419-481-2744. I am also a 4th grade teacher so will not be able to respond until after school hours.
