Jackson's Story

Adoption Application
https://forms.gle/mFSeEMa3cc1v9vUG8

**JACKSON IS LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME!**

Jackson is a 16 lb sweetheart rescued from a local shelter who has spent the past week settling into foster care. His foster family describes him as incredibly loving, affectionate, and a lap dog at heart! He loves snuggling with his people, playing fetch, enjoying his toys, and watching the world go by.

Jackson is **fully house-trained**, lets you know when he needs to go outside, walks nicely on a leash, and generally does well with other dogs. He enjoys his daily walks and playtime and has plenty of love to give!

**Jackson needs a special kind of home.** While he can be incredibly sweet and affectionate, he also struggles with anxiety, fear-based reactivity, and protective behavior around his favorite people. He has displayed growling, snapping, and biting when uncomfortable, overstimulated, or guarding his person. He needs an **experienced, patient adopter who can establish clear boundaries, provide structure, and continue working on his behavior.** A calm, consistent environment will be essential to his success.

**Jackson's ideal home:**
- Adults only — **no children**
- Experienced dog owners comfortable managing reactive behaviors and bite risk
- A patient family committed to training, boundaries, and a consistent routine
- Someone who enjoys affection, companionship, and daily activity

Jackson currently eats a **special veterinary diet due to a history of urinary crystals.** We suspect he may have been fed people food frequently in his previous home, which could have contributed to his urinary issues. His future adopter may wish to discuss a follow-up urinalysis with their veterinarian to determine whether his condition has improved and if the prescription diet is still necessary. Any dietary changes should be made under veterinary guidance.

Jackson will also require regular grooming. Although previous grooming difficulties were reported, his foster has been able to bathe and brush him without issue! He may need continued work on being left alone and adjusting to new situations.

Jackson isn't a dog for every household, but with the right experienced family willing to understand his needs, he has so much love and companionship to offer.

**Could you be the patient, committed forever family Jackson deserves?**
----------------------
ALREADY LOCAL!!!!
-----------------------
Adoption fee of $400 + $100 spay/neuter deposit - Receive a $100 refund once you have your pet spayed/neutered at your vet within the allotted time frame in the adoption agreement.
