Jackie came to the shelter as a stray with an injured eye, and while she lost that eye, she never lost her sparkleor her spirit. Now sporting her signature pirate look, shes embracing her new life with courage, curiosity, and a wagging tail. Jackie gets along well with other dogs and enjoys calm companionship. Because her vision isnt perfect, she prefers a peaceful home with adults or older kids who can move at her pace and help her feel safe. Sudden movements can make her a bit nervous, but with gentle reassurance and patience, she quickly learns to trust. Jackie Sparrow dreams of a cozy couch, soft blankets, and humans who will love her for the sweetheart she is. Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

In processing an application, we contact veterinarians to verify that all current pets are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered. Dogs should be current on heartworm testing and taking a monthly heartworm preventative. Please let your vet know that we will be calling as they sometimes require your permission to provide the needed information. We will also be contacting personal references. Please let them know that we will be calling so they are not taken by surprise. If you rent your home or apartment, please alert your landlord that we will be calling to make sure large dogs are allowed there. When all references have been checked, we will then schedule a house check. This is where one of our volunteers will visit your home to meet you in person and to see the environment you will be providing. Once your application is approved, you are invited to meet any of our available dogs and to speak with any of our fosters about a particular dog.
