So while she may look like a grown dog, Jackie is still very much a puppy mentally.

She's curious, playful, affectionate, and sometimes a little goofy!

One of her funniest quirks? When she's excited and playing, she likes to snap her jaws together, making a little clicking sound. It's part of her silly play style, but it also means she needs a family who understands puppy behavior and will continue teaching her appropriate play manners.

Jackie is comfortable around young children, but because she plays enthusiastically with other dogs and sometimes uses her mouth, we believe a home with older, dog-savvy children would be the better fit. Little ones could accidentally get nipped if they wandered into the middle of an energetic wrestling match.

She's Already Learned So Much! Here's what makes Jackie especially wonderful: despite her difficult start, she's already developed some excellent habits.

Potty trained and kennel trained

Dog friendly with dogs of all sizes

Cat friendly with cats of all sizes

Walks nicely on a leash

Does great on car rides

Knows sit and stay

Patiently waits for her meals and treats

Loves toys, chew toys, and playing with other dogs

Affectionate and enjoys being part of the family

Jackie is smart, eager to learn, and already has a great foundation. She just needs someone willing to continue helping her grow.

What Kind of Home Does Jackie Need?Jackie would thrive with a family who appreciates an active, playful dog and understands that puppyhood isn't determined by size.

She'd love a home with another friendly dog to play with, people who will include her in everyday activities, and plenty of opportunities to explore, learn, and burn off that puppy energy.

Most importantly, she needs patience, consistency, and a family committed to her for life.

Jackie doesn't need someone to start from scratch. She's already learned how to live in a home, respect routines, and coexist beautifully with dogs and cats.

What she needs now is the opportunity to keep learning, maturing, and becoming the incredible companion we know she can be.

Will You Be the Family Who Finally Chooses Her for Good?Jackie has already experienced what it's like to lose a home.

We don't want her to experience that again.

She's funny, affectionate, intelligent, playful, and full of potential. She may need a little extra guidance as she catches up on the puppyhood she missed, but she has so much love to give.

She doesn't need a perfect family. She needs the right family. One that understands she's still learning and won't give up on her.

Jackie is available for adoption or foster placement through Mutts & Runts Rescue.

Apply today: muttsandrunts.org/application

Jackie has already found her way back to us.
