Meet Jack Jack

Jack-Jack is a full-blooded male rottweiler (with a cropped tail) that came to the shelter because his elderly owner passed away. He is 7.5 years old and approximately 150 pounds. (He is a bit overweight, but he's also a BIG guy.) Jack-Jack is neutered, up to date on vaccines and friendly with people, including strangers, in the shelter environment. He even walks nicely on a leash and mostly tries to avoid your fingers as he takes a snack from them! BUT he is typical of his breed and must get to know a person before they attempt to "control" him. AND he will be territorial in his home environment. *For these reasons, rottweiler or mastiff breed experience is required.* A meet and greet with existing dogs will also be required. ABSOLUTELY NO CATS.

Adoption fee: $150; includes neuter, vaccinations (dhlpp and rabies), deworming for intestinal parasites and flea treatment. Heartworm test (including first 30 days of prevention) can be added for an additional $20.

Rescue inquiries can be sent to Friendsofbcacga@gmail.com or you can call the shelter directly at 478-445-5514 and leave a voicemail for a call back from the Rescue and Adoption Coordinator.

The Baldwin County Animal Shelter is often operating at capacity, this means that for every dog or cat that comes in, another must leave via rescue or adoption, or risk being euthanized for space. Multiple dogs and cats come to the shelter EVERY DAY, which means animals must also be moving out at the same rate. Unfortunately, sometimes there are larger adult, "pitbull" or mix-breed dogs that are continually overlooked for their younger or more "adoptable" counterparts. Please consider adopting a new best friend today!
