Jack - AL's Story

Name: Jack
Breed: ACD Labrador Mix
Age/Sex: 2.5 years; Male
Weight: approximately 50lbs
Medical: up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped
Cat Friendly: Yes
Dog Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes, however, freaks out and barks a lot
House Trained: In Training
Location: Alabama

Jack and his sister Jill are two of many unfortunate dogs that found themselves abandoned by their owners and then brought to a high kill shelter in the South. His sister, Jill, was lucky to be adopted. Jack, though, was what we call an eleventh-hour rescue. We had a fabulous foster step up for him before he ran out of time. Now this handsome devil is looking for his forever home!

Jack is a Velcro dog with some anxiety. He wants to be with his person all the time. He loves cuddling and playing with toys. He walks wonderfully on lead and does not pull. He is not a barker, except in the crate. He loves playing with other dogs and is very gentle with small dogs and cats.

Jack is not food or toy aggressive. He is an inquisitive dog that loves figuring things out. He is very playful and does not jump on people. He loves to climb, and because he feels like a Mountain Climber in Training we are currently working on not jumping on tables. He is treat-motivated and knows the following commands: come and sit. You honestly could not ask for a bigger love bug and he loves to give kisses!

He is an explorer that likes to go on expeditions when left alone, so though he may not love his crate it is best to crate him when he is left alone, or your home may not be left in the same condition! Jack is also a crowd pleaser and loves to meet strangers! He loves people of all ages. Do be warned, he prefers not to sleep alone, so be ready for company!

If you are interested in adopting, please click at the link below:
CRNE Adoption Application:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rjvYvkyGRug-gnCPcHFB49ksrZlQNlYQddGnkoVvNNA/viewform?fbclid=IwAR1Z3LWcB1HW2pncs-N64t1xdlD6Fm9P137xk6MErsLOE4ObXQ9erCAk-nM&edit_requested=true

Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.

Jack’s adoption donation is $450 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and Spay/Neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter, then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and $100 deposit.
