JACK's Story
Jack is such a wonderful, fun dog! He’s a very well mannered love-bug. Some awesome things about him: He’s house trained, and will ask to go outside if he needs to potty. He is also quiet, non-destructive, sleeps through the night, rides well in the car, and is good on leash. Although he can be a bit shy at first, in just a few minutes of calmly sitting nearby he warms up and will wiggle his way into your lap - especially if you have a treat! He gets along great with me (female), and loves my male partner. He was also excited to meet and hang out with my mom who came over to visit. He loves ear scratches, sitting in laps getting love, relaxing on the couch, and going for walks/hanging outside. His enthusiastic full body wiggles when he is happy have made us laugh a lot! Jack will make a wonderful, easy addition to any family. A pre-trained, loving dog — what more could you ask for! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
