Jack's Story

*** This is a curtesy rehoming listing. Jack is currently with his owner. ***
We will put you in touch with his owner for Q&A. Because GGDR has not personally evaluated this particular dog, we cannot vouch for any health or behavioral status. GGDR does not accept surrender owners, but we try to help when possible!

Meet Jack! He's a cool dude, already grown up and past those tricky teen years. He lovesssss to play! He can also entertain himself with toys and balls. Like many bulldogs, mouthy play is something he sometimes engages in, so he may be best suited for older children (teens) or very dog savvy kiddos. Car rides and hiking are his faves! He also adores cuddling up in bed with his favorite humans. He'd love a family to go on adventures with. Maybe yours?

He is typically good with other dogs, but will need slow introductions to ensure success (this is the case with all new animals coming into the home). He may be better suited for larger or stouter dogs simply due to his size. He does not live with cats, but his owner reports that he has not shown desire to chase outdoor cats he's come into contact with.

Jack is a loyal guy. He loves people; especially his family! So much so, that sometimes when strangers come over, he can get anxious and/or defensive. Hey, we don't know if these folks are ok or not?!? Jack prefers to remain crated until he gets to know new people. This is something that can be worked on if a new owner would like him to be more involved in gatherings. He's a pampered boy who likes to be tucked in at night with blankets (as he deserves!). A cozy crate and a yummy treat, and he'll be on cloud 9 in no time.

Contact us today to get to know more about Jack and set up a meeting with his owner! Jack needs a new home soon. We hope he can find a loving, forever home with you and your family.

Gilmore Gardens Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
We do things a little differently at Gilmore Dog Rescue! Instead of a traditional application, we use a simple intake form and a foster waiver (release of liability) to get started. Here’s how to become the proud new parent of one of our beloved Gilmore Guests: 1. Schedule a Meet & Greet *must live in Charlotte, NC**** Reach out via email or text to set up a meet and greet with Antonio, Shelley, or the foster parent of the dog you’re interested in. We require an in-home visit to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the dog. Before your visit, please email your veterinary reference(s) to shelley@gilmoredogrescue.com ******** Once Shelley approves your references and the dog is comfortable in your home, you’ll move into the Foster-to-Adopt stage. 2. Foster-to-Adopt Trial This trial period gives everyone—humans and pups—a chance to make sure it’s the right fit. It’s especially important if there are other pets, children, or elderly family members in the home. ****We do not allow same-day adoptions. Every dog must go through this foster process to help ensure it’s a forever home. 3. Final Adoption The length of the foster trial varies and will be discussed with a Gilmore Dog Rescue representative based on the dog’s needs and your situation. Once you’re fully committed to adoption, a representative will return for a final wellness check. The adoption fee is $250, and Shelley will send over the final adoption paperwork for legal transfer. And just like that, you’re officially a Gilmore Dog parent!
