What is Dent County Animal Welfare Society’s adoption process?

We have many beautiful pets to choose from, both dogs and cats.  Most of these are featured on Pet Finder or Facebook. All DCAWS pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and micro-chipped prior to adoption.  Adoption fees vary, depending on many factors, as low as $60 on dogs that have been there a while and $40 for cats with same situation. Base adoption for dogs is $150, puppies 1 year and under $175, and cats are $125.  We also have many kittens who are available for adoption that are $40 but are too small to be spayed/neutered. We do require you to sign a spay/neuter contract at time of adoption. Please give us a call if you would like more details. 573-729-3556. We are located in Salem, Missouri, 5358 S. Hwy 19 (please do not use GPS directions; they don't send you the right place)   Adoption hours are 1-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and Saturdays by appointment.
