Jack's Story

Hunter, Jack and Tucker came into the shelter together on 4-11-26 after the sudden death of their owner.
Hunter was much younger and is already placed in a foster to adopt but Jack and Tucker are both 10 years old and sweet old men. We would love to adopt them together if possible since they have been together their entire life and already lost their owner, we don't want them to loose each other as well this late in life. They have already been through enough and really enjoy spending time together.
They are both extremely overweight, but we are working on that. They have been going for lots of short walks and have even had some pool time. They like to lay in the water.
According to neighbors, the dogs were very well liked in the neighborhood. They did well with other calm dogs, strangers and children. They were previously very well loved and cared for and lived with cats. They are both a little sad in the shelter, but they are very sweet, really like people and just want to be near you.

Montgomery County SPCA's Adoption Policy
At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
