Jack's Story

This is Jack. Jack is a Pomeranian mix we need a special home for. He is seven years old. His owners adopted him when he was four. They had to give him up because the dynamics changed in the home and Jack wasn't coping well. Jack is very loving with his people and to strangers initially. Because he lost his home, he just has trouble knowing who to trust. He doesn't seek out to attack anyone, he will approach for pets. We have tested him to see what triggers his behaviors. One of us was dominant with him, which did not work. I have basically ignored him for about three weeks other than basic care, and he now lets me do anything to him. We have had many discussions and tested theories to in order to see what pushes his buttons. The result is just letting him be, with no pressure for pets for about three weeks. When he trusts you, and it is obvious when he does, he will be the most loyal, loving doggie. Jack will not need to be with children. He won't go after them, but children do not know how to give space. If you think you would like to know more about Jack, and possibly want to give him a try, please call the kennel at 501-623-5012, or submit an application located on our website at hsgconline.org. He is worth a chance, he is just unsure about things right now. Jack is very housetrained which is a plus!
