Jack's Story
Meet Jack!

Jack was part of a small group of very lucky rescue pups who came to us all the way from our wonderful rescue partners near Lake Chapala, just outside of Guadalajara. After making the journey north, this friendly boy is now settling into his loving temporary foster home in the greater Portland area, where he's getting the chance to rest, decompress, and begin adjusting to life in the Pacific Northwest.

Backstory: Jack was found roadside with his sister Jill. He is very affectionate with people he is familiar with. He is an energetic dog who loves to jump and play fetch. If you're interested in learning more or would like the opportunity to meet Jack, we encourage you to submit an adoption application through our website to start the process!

Could you be his lucky hero?

PupFax: Jack
Adoption Status: Available for Immediate Adoption
Medical Clearance: Fully Cleared and Ready!
Medical Status: Cleared
Location: Portland, OR
Rescue Intake Type: Rescue-International

At-a-Glance Stats -

Age: 3 years (approximate)

Breed: Mixed breed

Size: Medium

Weight: 50 pounds (Approx. last weigh-in)

Sex: Male

Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Vaccinations: Up to date (core vaccinations)

Microchipped: Yes

Personality & Temperament: Playful, snuggly, intelligent. Jack loves kids but we are working on jumping. In general he is very sweet and social, but he is nervous when people are coming towards him on walks.

Energy level: Moderate/High

Home & Lifestyle Fit - Active, regular walks and brain stimulation. He is so smart and has really strong desire to please.

People: Timid of strangers at first but quickly warms up., Great with kids.

Dogs: Neutral - Friendly and excited but still learning about boundaries.

Cats: Maybe; has not interacted with cats but based on general demeanor may be fine around cats with proper introductions.

Activity Level:

Ideal Home: Jack is the sweetest, most enthusiastic boy with the cutest lopsided smile. He loves to throw a ball around and play with his foster sibling. He would do well with a slightly submissive playmate but with the right introductions would probably be ok with most. He would make a great adventure buddy.

Training & Manners - He has shown a little bit of resource guarding towards his housemates over toys but has been easily redirected.

House/Potty Trained: Yes

Crate Trained: Anxious and vocal in the crate

Leash Skills: Walks great on leash, generally loose leash with minimal pulling.

Commands Known: Knows the basics in Spanish already- working on them in English.

Food/Treat Motivation: Yes

Health Notes - N/A

Overall Health: Good

Known Medical Needs: N/A

(All known medical and behavioral information is disclosed prior to adoption.)
