Jack's Story

If you are looking for a loyal, seasoned companion who truly understands the value of a quiet afternoon, meet Jack.

Jack is a handsome 9-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix. He weighs 55 lbs. For most of his life, Jack has known only rescue life, living in a shelter before recently transferring to Saving Grace Rescue LBK. He has been a patient boy for a very long time, and we are determined to find him the couch he’s been dreaming of.

🏠 Jack’s Ideal Life

Jack was recently diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis. While that might sound intimidating, Jack is handling it fantastically! Our vet has encouraged a "watch and see" approach, and so far, he is doing wonderful. To keep him feeling his best, Jack has a few simple requests for his forever home:

A Calm Environment: Jack is a "low-gear" kind of guy. He thrives in a peaceful home without too much hustle and bustle.

Climate Control is Key: Because of his condition, Jack needs to stay out of the outdoor elements, especially heat. He is likes to be an indoor gentleman who loves his air conditioning!

Easy Does It: Jack's marathon-running days are behind him. He needs limited activity to keep his breathing easy and relaxed. He does enjoy short walks and an easy romp in the yard with other canine friends.

A Soulful Companion: He is the ultimate "hang out" partner—perfect for someone who enjoys reading, watching movies, or just quiet companionship.

Jack has spent nearly a decade waiting for a family to call his own. He doesn't need much—just a cool room, a soft bed, and a person to love him through his golden years.

Apply to adopt this sweet senior today! Saving Grace Rescue LBK's Adoption Policy
Our adoption fee is $225 (locally). This fee goes toward the cost of our vetting expenses for the dog, which includes the dog being spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We require an application and home visit for adoption of one of our dogs. We want to ensure our dogs are placed in forever homes and are not in a situation that would be unsafe for the dog or perpetuate the misconceptions surrounding Pit Bulls. We prefer that adopters be at least 21 years old, but we will consider applicants under 21 on a case by case basis - so please still fill out an application. Please keep in mind that we know our dogs well; behavior, temperament, special needs, etc. Any decisions we make are in trying to do what's best for our dogs and the homes that we adopt them into. **If you are adopting out of state and we are sending a dog for adoption through our partner, Project Freedom Ride, the adoption fee is $500 which covers all vetting requirements and transport costs.**
