She wakes up wondering who wants to play, where the toys are, and whether anyone is handing out snacks.<br/>She races through the yard, wrestles with her foster friends, hops onto the couch like shes been doing it her entire life, and greets every day with the kind of joy we all wish we had.<br/>Shes proof that dogs dont waste time dwelling on yesterday.<br/>When Izzy first arrived, her story wasnt nearly as happy. This tiny 12-pound girl came to us with a devastating leg injury. We were told she had been hit by a car. Whether it was bad luck or a tragic accident, what mattered most was getting her the care she desperately needed. The leg was badly infected and beyond saving, so amputation became her path to a pain-free future.<br/>Fast forward to today...<br/>Youd swear shed been born with three legs.<br/>Well...except for the occasional corner she takes just a little too enthusiastically. <br/>Now she has just one final mountain to climb: heartworm treatment.<br/>Ironically, the hardest part for Izzy wont be the medicine.<br/>It will be convincing this happy, energetic little girl that she cant sprint, wrestle, leap, or perform her daily zoomie demonstrations for several weeks.<br/>During treatment shell need leash walks, kennel rest, couch snuggles, and careful supervision while the heartworms die safely. Those temporary restrictions arent optional—theyre what make treatment successful. Without strict adherence to the kennel/ leash time she could die. Its a great time to get to bond as a new owner by fostering to adopt. <br/>Thats why Izzy is looking for a local Foster-to-Adopt home.<br/>If youve ever thought about fostering but werent sure where to start, this is a wonderful opportunity.
