Ivy's Story

Meet Ivy — The Joyful, Playful Mama With a Heart of Gold
Ivy is a wonderful girl who has embraced indoor life with impressive ease. A mixed‑breed rescue from the north and proud mama to Jack, Boo, and Sabrina, she’s now ready for her own fresh start. Ivy is 60 pounds of fun, silliness, and smiles — the kind of dog who fills a home with warmth and laughter.

Ivy is playful and absolutely loves toys. Squeaky toys don’t stand a chance (she turns them into non‑squeaky toys in minutes), and she’s a big fan of chew toys. Like many curious pups, she’ll happily chew gloves or items left out, but she stops immediately with a firm “no.” She loves to run, chase, and wrestle with other dogs, and she has bursts of joyful outdoor energy before settling back inside where it’s warm and cozy.

Ivy crates beautifully, just a few soft complaints as you leave, more of a token protest than anything else. She actually likes having a crate, using it as her safe little cave when she’s unsure, and then happily rejoining the household once she’s ready. She sleeps soundly through the night and just needs a quick morning potty break. She would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, as she loves companionship and does best with a bit of structure and reassurance.

Once she’s comfortable, Ivy is incredibly friendly and affectionate. She’s working hard on her manners with cats and has already earned some respect from the resident felines. She also has a soft spot for men and enjoys their attention.

Because Ivy is fast, agile, and capable of scaling a low fence if she wanted to, she would do best with a space with a high, secure fence available for her to keep her safe during her zoomies or a partner for lots of activity and hiking adventures.

Ivy is very smart and picks up new things quickly, but she needs patience and time to feel fully comfortable with new experiences. Ivy is continuing to blossom into the incredible companion she’s meant to be..

Her spay will be covered by the rescue's preferred vet when she is able to be spayed. Meet and Greets will be held in the Acton, Ontario region.

If you are interested in learning more about Ivy, send us a message or fill out the application form below:

https://form.jotform.com/201853389773265
