Ivy (Bonded with Fern)'s Story
Ivy is an adorable 2 year old Dachshund/Heeler mix (per former family). She could easily pass for a Rat Terrier mix with her cute tri-color coat.
Ivy is the more outgoing half of this bonded sister duo. Ivy and Fern do everything together and will be adopted as a pair, but Ivy is usually the one leading the way and showing her sister the ropes.

Ivy is friendly, curious, and just the right amount of playful. She’s the one who will initiate games with her foster siblings, happily bouncing around and then settling in for some cuddle time when she’s done. Despite her playful side, she still has a calm, gentle demeanor and makes an excellent little lap dog.

Ivy’s crate trained with Fern and is now house trained. Ivy enjoys being outside, whether she’s exploring the yard or just soaking up some fresh air. She’s dog friendly and was reported to have lived with cats in her previous home.

Ivy has that perfect mix of independence and affection. She’s confident without being overwhelming and loving without being clingy. And while she may be the brave one, she’s never far from her sister, because their bond is truly something special 🐾

Ivy and Fern are looking for a home that will keep them together, where they can continue being the perfect little duo.

Ivy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and prevention, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $450 (for the pair).

To meet Fern and Ivy, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.

Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
