Meet Ivy- ADOPTION PENDING

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young dog. Ivy is the kind of pup that snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her beautiful head on your shoulder. She's so new and fresh with every possibility open to her. That's the case unless a pup like Ivy is scheduled for euthanasia in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuers in saving Ivy...they could see that her temperament is so sweet and loving that they couldn't allow wonderful Ivy to be euthanized.

Ivy was immediately brought to be vetted and then on to a nurturing foster home to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Ivy, at only 12 months old and 44 lbs is an all-time lovebug! She's extremely friendly and so engaging that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for her rescuer. She had the following to say about Ivy:

Ivy is as cute as a button and sometimes so silly..and then so serious that she seems like an old soul. Ivy is also like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her. I take Ivy out and about to parks and neighborhood outings for socialization and she's 100% sweet and social. She's such a beautiful and stately girl...seriously, her photo in no way does her justice. Ivy has the most gorgeous pure white coat and eyes with so much wisdom (and a little pain) that they touch my heart. Ivy is very excited about learning new skills..If she continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...she will become a well-adjusted best friend that can accompany her family out into the world with excellent behavior.

Ivy is lucky enough to have inherited the superior intelligence, curiosity and fun-loving/very sweet nature of both the Lab and Cattle Dog breeds. If Ivy is trained with a positive reinforcement/force-free trainer and given tons of love and socialization with both humans of all ages and other dogs, she will grow into a self-confident girl who will be an loving and loyal companion. Ivy has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a puppyish desire to please. Farfel's is happy to provide an approved list of positive reinforcement/force-free trainers in your area.

Ivy is just about the most irresistible pup ever! She looks up at me with so much love and trust...but it didn't quite start that way. Ivy was initially shy and and a bit frightened. But with hugs, loving and fun playtime, she's becoming my best friend. Ivy is sometimes calm and mellow..then watch out for puppyish energy. She's so entertaining..who needs television! She just appears to be more fun than your average puppy (or maybe I'm biased). If Ivy is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines and rewards for great behavior, she will become a well-adjusted dog who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this kind and cuddly young girl.

Ivy's stunning pure white coat is currently a bit shelter-sad. She'll require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is excellent for both longevity and coat care) to keep this pup's coat super-healthy and cottony-soft with great health.

We're searching for a very loving and committed family for our sweet Ivy. Applications are being accepted for this loving and loyal best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Ivy please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder, Rescueme and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving puppy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
