Ivory's Story

Hi, I'm Ivory! I'm a 10-year-old, 36-pound mixed-breed girl with a pretty tan-and-white coat and plenty of energy left for adventures. Don't let my senior status fool you-I still love getting outside, going for walks, playing tug-of-war, and staying busy. Afterward, I'm always happy to soak up plenty of pets and attention from my people.

I'm affectionate, playful, adventurous and very food motivated. I'm housetrained, walk nicely on a leash, and know "sit" and "shake." I'm also a good passenger in the car and can get in and out on my own. Stairs aren't a problem for me either.

I've lived with children from the newborn stage through age 4, and I can get excited around kids. I'm generally friendly with other dogs, although I can feel nervous around dogs that are bigger than me, especially if they're pushy or aggressive. Cats probably aren't the best match for me because I like to chase them.

When meeting new people, I'm friendly but can be a little cautious at first, particularly around men. Give me some time to get comfortable and you'll discover what a sweet and loving companion I can be.

My ideal home would have a fenced yard where I can safely explore, along with people who have plenty of time for walks, activities and attention. I'm used to having free run of the house and can stay home alone for a typical workday.

I may be 10, but I'm not ready for a quiet retirement just yet. I'm looking for someone who wants an affectionate, energetic companion and will give me the activity, attention and love I deserve. Could that be you?
