Ivory's Story

Ivory came to us and became a little surprise package in a really great way! Ivory and her co-companion, Misu, were surrendered or shall we say dumped at a very high kill shelter. POPR and SPARI collaborated to pull resources together to save these two girls. With a great team of volunteers to transport and Foster - Ivory and Misu have landed in a great temporary foster home. They now have been assessed enough to know the exact type of forever homes they need. Ivory is such a heart melter. Just on initial meeting you would never know what a wonderful dog she is and it breaks your heart to know that she and Misu were so close to receiving a needle to take their lives. She came to us pretty depressed and a little bit sick. Since then she has flourished and her true colors have come out! Ivory is slightly vision impaired but you would hardly notice. Ivory is able to very easily navigate her way around most everything. She actually is great on a leash and is fun to walk as she loves to engage with you on your walks - we came up with some fun things that she loves to engage in when provoked! She lights up and becomes very playful if you engage with her in these type of ways, you will find a very funny little girl. Ivory loves to draw people into giving her attention, she loves meeting people. She has an odd way of doing it, but she is very successful! Ivory absolutely loves for you to say her name and equally as enthused when you tell her she's a good girl. She acts like she's never been noticed. Her world just lights up when she knows somebody is actually noticing her and actually wants to interact with her. Ivory loves to give you hip hugs if you let her! One of her favorite pastimes is to collect all the toys around she can find and take them to her bed or couch. She's not destructive, she just wants them ALL to be with her. She is very smart and adaptable. Ivory loves naps and lounging around. She will make a great couch potato partner for anyone that will accompany her. She can be good with other dogs but she can also be reactive at times so she would need a sound, non-reactive pup pal. Ivory's one workaround is that she does like to dig holes to lay in. This tells us that she was probably an outside dog even though she's really good inside. She really is a fun, unique dog that I would encourage anybody that just wants a really fun loving companion that will light your world up to take a moment to meet her. Ivory does need a home that is prepared that if her eyesight were to get worse in the future that they are okay with having a dog with little eyesight or none at all, which may never happen, but there is a possibility for this. That's why it's utterly important that we find a great, proper home for her that she could spend the rest of her years out and and not have to endure remapping a new home if she does lose her eyesight. Though, she absolutely can do it and is so adaptable to a new situation, it would just take her a little bit of time. She's eager and super sharp. Ivory can be communicable when she needs something. That's always a bonus to have a dog that can communicate their needs to their humans. She also likes to chatter back at you when you're talking to her. It's another one of her wonderful traits that'll put a great big smile on your face or a chuckle in your day. You really can't feel what a really great dog she is until you actually meet her. Please help us to get into her forever home so she can start laying out the laws of the land for you! Lol

All adoptions are processed as Foster to Adopt to give time for Rescue to evaluate if applicant(s) and the rescue dog are appropriate matched after a period of time of acclimation has appropriately been applied or experienced before life commitments are made

TEXT FOR FASTER RESPONSE to inquiries:
323-558-8094
Email:paradeofpawsrescue@gmail.com
For more pictures and videos please follow us on IG: @paradeofpawsdogrescue
