Ivan's Story
Ivan came to us after being found as a stray, and this handsome young guy is ready to see what the good life is all about.

Ivan is playful, affectionate, and loves being around his people. Toys are a BIG deal, especially a good game of tug, but he's equally happy cuddling up next to his senior female canine foster sibling. He really enjoys having a dog friend around, and we think he'd be pretty happy sharing his future home with another compatible pup.

He's also house trained AND crate trained.

Ivan knows "sit" and "off," and his foster family is working with him on his leash skills. He's still a young guy, so we're also polishing up some manners like not jumping when he's excited and learning that dog beds are, in fact, beds and not giant expensive chew toys.

One thing you probably won't have to work on? Barking. Ivan basically doesn't bark. Because he's such a quiet guy, he could potentially do well in a condo or similar home as long as he gets plenty of exercise and room to stretch his legs.

His dream setup would include someone who wants a walking companion, a yard where he can run and play, or ideally a little bit of both. He's good with people, has done well with kids ages 5 and up, and enjoys the company of female dogs in his foster home. Cats are currently unknown.

Long car rides aren't his favorite and he'll let you know by whining about the terrible injustice of being trapped in the car for seventeen whole years. We're pretty sure he'll survive.

Ivan also recently underwent surgery to correct an issue with his eyelids growing inward. He's recovered, has been medically cleared, and is officially ready to move on to bigger and much more exciting things.

He's young. He's loving. He's goofy. And he's got a whole lot of life ahead of him.

Now he just needs someone to experience it with.

DOB: 01/01/2025

Ready to make Ivan part of your family?
Apply to adopt at rescueapittie.org.
