Italy Worth's Story
Meet Italy!

Italy is a sweet girl who deserves a chance to discover what it means to be loved. She arrived at the shelter with her newborn puppies after her previous owner decided they had too many dogs. Italy has since raised her babies, and they have all found their forever homes. Now it’s finally her turn. She is 3 years old and weighs 10lbs.

We believe Italy may have had very little human contact before coming to Tzu Zoo, so the world of people is still a little scary for her. She is fully house-trained and will happily follow her foster family in and out of the house and into the backyard. She enjoys being near the family, but she is still very skittish and will run if someone tries to pick her up.

Italy will need a patient, understanding family willing to let her build trust at her own pace. She may not be the kind of dog who runs into your arms on day one, but we hope that with time, consistency, and kindness, she will learn that human hands can be gentle and that a home can be a safe place.

Her foster family will continue working with her as she learns to feel more comfortable. We know her journey may take time, but Italy deserves the opportunity to experience the love and security she may have missed out on.

We are praying for that special family who will see Italy's potential, celebrate her little victories, and give her all the time she needs to blossom. Could you be the one to give this deserving girl her chance?

Please apply at tzuzoorescue.com if you are interested in adopting from Tzu Zoo Rescue. More information available by contacting tzrinquiries@tzuzoorescue.com.

[NOTE: We are a rescue NOT a shelter, meaning WE DO NOT HAVE A FACILITY THAT OPENS TO THE PUBLIC. Typically, an application and home visit (both of which are required for adoption) MUST be completed, BEFORE a potential adopter will be introduced to one of our pets, in order to first determine that our basic adoption requirements are met, prior to introductions being made. We also utilize personal reference and vet checks (to ensure that any pets already in the potential adoptive home are current on vaccines, heart worm prevention and sterilized) in our adoption process, all of which is intended to ensure that the best match, between pet and people, is made. The adoption fee is based on on the dog's age.
