Iris's Story
Iris comes with a free training session and her adoption fee has been fully sponsored by our generous donors.

Iris spent a few months living at B&R Bunkhouse, before being transferred to our care on new year's eve. She has watched many holidays pass, other dogs come and go, and people look over her time and time again. Iris has spent far too long living in a kennel. She needs a hero! Is that hero you? We promise you will fall in love with this sweet girl!

Iris is a fun-loving pit mix who was found as a stray, she is a happy girl who has an attitude of gratitude and is up for whatever you want to do. Go for a hike? She's in. Snuggle on the couch and share snacks? She's your girl. She is fine to be neutral around other dogs in the world, but would prefer to be your one and only! Iris has never met a cat before, and with her exuberance, older kids are a must.

A note from her most recent day out of the rescue:

"Iris is a fantastic car rider. While she may take up most of the back seat when she stretches out, she also loves sticking her head out the window and taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the world passing by.
During our adventure, Iris really got the chance to show off just how smart she is. Between all the sniffing and exploring, she consistently checked in with both me and my partner. She happily responded to cues she already knows, including "sit," "down," "let's go," "this way," and "with me."
Iris has also been conditioned to marker words like "yes" and "good." These markers help her understand exactly which behaviors are earning praise and rewards, making communication clear and helping her continue making great choices. She's a bright girl who loves learning and being part of the action." -Kennel StaffPlease submit an application at http://helpinghoundsdogrescue.org A processed application is required to visit the rescue.
